Reserve Management

Reserve management is how Kulce keeps KGOLD connected to the real-world gold it represents. The goal is simple: KGOLD should be easy to hold on-chain, while the underlying reserve process remains disciplined, controlled, and transparent.

What Reserve Management Means

Each KGOLD represents one gram of gold. Reserve management is the operational process behind that promise: tracking gold reserves, monitoring issued KGOLD supply, and maintaining internal controls around how new KGOLD enters circulation or leaves circulation.

When KGOLD is issued, the process is tied to an approved purchase flow. When KGOLD is sold back through Kulce, the redeemed KGOLD is removed from circulation. This keeps issuance and redemption connected to completed market activity rather than uncontrolled token creation.

Controlled Issuance

KGOLD is not minted casually or manually for ordinary market activity. New KGOLD is issued through authorized flows after a purchase request is reviewed, approved, and completed.

This means:

  • A quote does not create KGOLD.
  • A pending request does not create KGOLD.
  • KGOLD is issued only after settlement is completed.
  • The issued amount is recorded on-chain.

For requests below Kulce's configured auto-approval limits, the process can complete automatically while still following the same whitelist, pricing, and settlement controls.

Supply Discipline

The KGOLD token includes a supply cap. This cap limits the maximum amount of KGOLD that can exist and provides an additional control around issuance.

Supply discipline matters because tokenized gold depends on confidence. You should be able to see KGOLD as more than a wallet balance: it is part of a controlled issuance model where minting, selling, and redemption are handled through defined processes.

Reserve Monitoring

Kulce monitors the relationship between issued KGOLD and the physical gold reserve records maintained by the business. Reserve information is managed through internal operational controls and will be expanded in future documentation as public reserve reporting becomes available.

The purpose of reserve monitoring is to support a clear view of:

  • Total KGOLD issued.
  • Gold reserve records.
  • Recent reserve attestations.
  • Operational updates related to reserve status.

Operational Controls

Reserve management is not only about balances. It also depends on controls around who can approve changes, who can complete settlement, and how important operational actions are reviewed.

Kulce uses structured approval flows for sensitive operations. These controls are designed to reduce unilateral action and create a clearer audit trail around market activity and reserve-related updates.

Transparency Roadmap

Kulce's reserve reporting will continue to evolve. Future documentation will include more detail about reserve attestations, reporting cadence, custody information, and how reserve data is presented to the public.

For now, this page gives the high-level model: KGOLD issuance is controlled, redeemed KGOLD is removed from circulation, and reserve management is treated as a core part of the product rather than an afterthought.
