Market Availability
KGOLD buying and selling are available only when reliable gold market pricing is available. Kulce uses Pyth's XAU/USD price feed as the market reference, so the portal follows the availability of that feed.
When pricing is available and your wallet is approved, you can request to buy or sell KGOLD. When pricing is unavailable, stale, or outside acceptable reliability limits, the portal may temporarily disable market activity.
Pyth Oracle Availability
Kulce relies on Pyth for live XAU/USD pricing. This gives the market an external reference point for gold prices instead of relying on a manually entered internal price.
Useful Pyth links:
If the Pyth feed is closed, stale, unavailable, or unusually uncertain, Kulce will not continue with a quote that cannot be reliably executed.
Weekday and Weekend Schedule
The XAU/USD market follows a weekly schedule with daily breaks and a weekend closure. In UTC, the regular schedule depends on New York daylight-saving time.
During daylight-saving time:
- Open from Sunday 22:00 UTC to Friday 21:00 UTC.
- Daily pause from 21:00 UTC to 22:00 UTC, Monday through Thursday.
- Closed from Friday 21:00 UTC to Sunday 22:00 UTC.
During standard time:
- Open from Sunday 23:00 UTC to Friday 22:00 UTC.
- Daily pause from 22:00 UTC to 23:00 UTC, Monday through Thursday.
- Closed from Friday 22:00 UTC to Sunday 23:00 UTC.
These times may also be affected by holidays, market events, or oracle availability. The portal uses the latest available market status when deciding whether buying and selling should be enabled.
Market Closed Behavior
When the market is closed, you can still access the portal and view information such as balances, dashboard data, and transaction history.
However, buying and selling may be disabled until reliable pricing is available again. This helps prevent requests from being submitted when they cannot be priced or executed properly.
During a market closure, the portal may show:
- Buy and sell actions as unavailable.
- A message explaining that the market is closed.
- The expected reopening time, when available.
- Existing balances and historical activity.
Failed or Expired Quotes
Quotes are time-sensitive. A quote can fail or expire if market conditions change before the request is submitted.
This can happen when:
- The gold price feed becomes stale.
- The market closes before submission.
- The price moves beyond the accepted range.
- The Pyth confidence range becomes too wide.
- The requested amount is outside current market limits.
If a quote fails or expires, you can refresh the quote and review the updated details before trying again.
Why Availability Rules Matter
Market availability rules are designed to protect the quality of execution. Kulce prioritizes reliable pricing over allowing buy or sell requests during periods when the gold market cannot be confidently referenced.
This helps keep KGOLD market activity disciplined, transparent, and aligned with live gold pricing.
